Clayfield and Cox All-Stars
2009-10-07 00:38:16
The KFL all-stars where announced today and the battery combo of catcher Jason Clayfield and pitcher Larry Cox made the list. Clayfield caught every inning this year for the Sox and showed why runners think twice when testing his arm. Jason also lead the Sox in most offensive categories such as average, hits, runs, rbi's and total bases. Larry Cox made the team for stellar performance on the mound all season and throughout the playoffs. Cox posted a 6-3-3 record and a had a sparkling ERA of 2.33. Both guys where a big reason for the Sox success this past year and where well deserving of the acknowledgement.

Sox season over
2009-09-16 18:12:11
The Breslau Black Sox season came to an end with their heartbreaking 1-0 loss in extra innings in the decisive game three of their opening round playoff match up. Both the Sox and Selects played amazing defense bailing out their pitchers in a few key jams. Leading the way offensively for the Sox was Chris Schuett with two singles. Larry Cox took the hard loss as he pitched flawlessly in both game two and three of the series. Cox only surrendered four hits in game three over eight innings of work. It was a rough way to lose a series but the Sox showed a lot of moxy with nine come from behind victories and ties throughout the entire season. Hopefully the tight games will help the team grow for the 2010 season.

Selects win series 2-1
Game MVP: Jeff Kolb
Line of the night: Larry Cox - 8 IP, 4 H, 2 K

Sox win another walk off
2009-08-31 23:03:49
With their season on the line, the Sox where able to scrap out a 1-0 thriller to even up the series and force game three. It was a good old pitching duel with Larry Cox and Doug Hoffman going head to head baffling both offenses with amazing pitch locations and great movement. However, the Sox where able to get to Hoffman in the top of the seventh when Corey Jackson led off the inning with a pinch hit single. He was replaced by Jeff Laythorpe for running purposes. Following Jackson's clutch hit was Scott Robinson who knocked his second hit of the game sending Laythorpe to third on the play and taking second himself on the throw. The Selects then decided to load the bases by walking Chris Dietrich in order to set up a force play any where in the infield. Cory Bluhm wanted nothing to do with that and cashed Laythorpe with a sacrifice fly to right field giving the Sox the dramatic walk off win and forcing a game three.

Just like last season, the Sox have taken the top seed in the league to the a final decisive game.

Best of three series tied 1-1
Game MVP: Larry Cox
Line of the night: Larry Cox - CG, SO, 5 K, 5 H
