2010-09-02 19:36:09
Unfortunately the first game of the semi-finals has been washed out. Game one will now be next Thursday the 9th at 7pm.

Semi-final matchup
2010-09-02 12:44:08
The Sox will start their second round series as the top seeded team of the league as the veteran Classics upset the first overall seed Cardinals in their first round match-up. The Sox and Classics have a long playoff history as the teams have met in the semis in 2005, 2006, and 2008. The Sox will be looking to overcome their Goliath and advance to their first KFL finals in franchise history.

Regular Season: Black Sox swept the season series winning both games 8-1 and 6-2.

On to the semis
2010-09-02 12:38:46
The Sox are making a return visit to league semi finals with their 3-1 game three victory over the Reds. The Sox jumped out to a 3-0 lead early and didn't look back to clinch the victory. Marc Geddes was his usually stellar self on the mound going seven strong innings while fanning six batters giving him eighteen strikeouts in fourteen innings pitched in the playoffs so far. Offensively the Sox were lead by the brilliant bat of Tim Bartram who went three for three with two singles and a double to round out his perfect night. Jason Clayfield also chipped in with two hits (both doubles) and knocking in two runners to provide the team with the runs they needed to cap the victory. Jeff Laythorpe, Jeff Kolb, and Alan Taylor picked up the other hits on the night. The Sox will now move on to face the Classics in the league semi finals which is another best of three series.

Game MVP: Tim Bartram
Line of the Night: Jason Clayfield - 2 for 3, 2 2B, 2 RBI
WebGem: Jeff Laythorpe's full on diving catch at a full sprint in left field to save at least one run in the sixth inning.
