The Sox began their quest for their first league championship with a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Classics to start their first round playoff match up on the right note. The Sox played excellent defense behind the great efforts of Marc Geddes on the mound. Turning not one but two double plays to escape threatening innings. Offensively the Sox where in tough against a strong pitching performance by The Classics. However, the Sox managed to get some timely hitting from Jason Clayfield (2-3, 1 RBI) and Jeff Laythorpe (2-3, 1 HR, 2 R) to help put them over the top. Jeff Kolb, Alan Taylor and Chris Schuett also picked up hits in the victory. The Sox will look to close out the best of three opening round series with Game 2 slated to go Monday.

July and August

The Sox went on an impressive tear through the league in the month of July going a scorching 6-2 over their eight games during the month. Even the two losses that they suffered during July where close as the fell in both games by one run. The Sox then fell a bit flat during their only two games of the month of August and finished in third in the ultra competitive black division. This earned the Sox yet another playoff appearance against their playoff foes The Classics (2010 KFL champions).

The Sox also partook in the annual Desboro tournament. Having found success their in the past couple of years, the Sox were looking to duplicate their winning ways. They went a very strong 4-1 over the weekend in taking home the B division championship. Leading the way for the Sox on the weekend was Marc Geddes with some dominating performances on the mound. His battery mate Jason Clayfield lead the offense hitting a pedestrian like .600 for the weekend. The Sox are hoping to carry these winning ways over the playoffs as they start their quest for their first league championship.

Week Eight

The Sox snapped their three game losing streak as their bats came alive in both games they played during this week. The Sox picked the win when they met the Kings with a lopsided score of 16-3. Leading the offense out of their early season slumber where Jeff Kolb with a triple, homerun, and six RBI in the game. Jason Clayfield and Al Taylor chipped in as well with Clayfield going an astonishing 5 for 5 and Taylor following that up with a 4 for 4 night. Larry Cox picked up the victory with a workman's like effort. The following night the Sox kept up the offensive output with a 11-7 victory over Bell Cartage. Jeff Laythorpe lead the offensive charge going 4 for 5 and Al Taylor continued his offensive dominance with another 3 for 4 night. Marc Geddes chucked the entire game picking up nine strike outs in his seven innings of work.

Game 12: Won 11-7 over Bell Cartage; Larry Cox MVP
